Three Tasty Veggies You Can Grow Anywhere This Summer

Three Tasty Veggies You Can Grow Anywhere This Summer

Here are three summer veggies that are easy to grow in your garden, planters or pots.

Lettuce
Lettuce needs to be in soil that is at least 15cm deep. Planting different lettuce varieties together will add colour, interest and taste to your salads. Loose-leaf lettuces grow quicker than hearting varieties.

Carrots
Plant carrots in light, well-drained, stone-free soil. If you’re using pots or planters, ensure the soil depth is at least 30cm. As well as classic orange carrots, try white, red or purple varieties.

Green beans
Green beans (or French beans) grow well during the British summer. If you’re short on space, choose a dwarf variety that will grow to 40cm at most.
If you have a larger area, climbing varieties can grow to 1.5m.
